Meet Ms. Jones
My Philosophy Of Education:
I believe that students learn More when they have control of what they are learning. Students should be included in most decisions including their curriculum and what goes on in their classroom. I also believe the classroom is a place for learning, but it is also a great place for emotional and social support. Not only will the students learn more about themselves, they will also learn about each other. Every child is different and unique in their own ways. As a teacher I strive to meet the needs and learning abilities of each and every student in my classroom, regardless of the accommodations or time needed. As a teacher, my role is to act as a guide. I do not believe in lecturing, instead I encourage my students to participate in hands-on activities and interact with the world around them.
around them. By doing this, students have a more concrete learning experience and often learn from their peers as well; I, too, learn things from my students. I believe students curiosity drives some of the best educational lessons. A welcoming, positive, adaptable, and warm learning environment is the most conducive setting for a successful classroom. Everyone should feel equal, welcome, ambitious, and excited when they are entering and exiting my classroom. As a teacher, I find it crucial to be a part of the school’s community. Attending events, volunteering, and go to sporting events helps me to stay involved and be aware of things going on in the community. Parent communication is crucial to a student’s successful school year. I believe in sending home daily folders and contacting parents if there is a problem. However, I also believe in contacting parents for positive student behavior and achievements. Communication should never be viewed as a negative situation for parents or students. It is key to communicate for every student’s educational success throughout the school year. In my classroom, we build each other and lift each other up. We are a family. WE love, laugh, cry, and learn about the world… TOGETHER!
